85” x 45” pencil on Arches hot press board mounted on maple

This is the first installment of this work in progress, just to show the size I am putting it up in this manner when I get more completed ill show the sections in detail. This is the largest drawing I have ever attempted and coming on the heels of the smallest I have ever done it really is exciting and daunting. Ive got about 80 hours into it so far im looking at a year or maybe a little less. This drawing is so large I have to use a grid and I have close to 200 photos I’m working with and a bunch of branches and twigs so I can capture texture not just of a photo but from the real thing. This drawing is of a fallen tree and stump after we had a blizzard but the top will be thousands of trees in the background
